In the early morning hours of Saturday, Aug. 19, individuals from Yellowknife touched down in British Columbia via Royal Canadian Air Force medical evacuation.

It became quickly apparent that residents could bring very little with them in the rush to leave. Most came with few items of clothing or personal supplies, carried in tote bags or small backpacks.

Organizing a clothing drive or stopping by a department store wouldn't be adequate. Some residents wear what's known as adaptive clothing, which allows for better care and easier dressing. With this in mind, a call went out to some of our regular suppliers, and Ovidis stepped up immediately to lend a hand.

The team at MSJ were asked to provide a list, including color preferences. Each item on the list was filled and immediately shipped to the hospital.

"it's going to improve resident care and make things simpler", says Carrie Smith, Resident Care Manager at MSJ's Extended Care Unit. "the team at Ovidis immediately stepped in and have already shipped out everything we needed."

Thank you again to Ovidis for their generous gift.
